Be Descriptive

The more information you provide, the more likely you are to make a sale. It’s a good idea to include details such as how much you bought them for and what condition it’s in. Describe the product you’re selling, including its features, a brief history and reasons for selling the item. Include frame sizes for bikes.

Use Categories

Provide Images

You will have more success with potential buyers if they can see the item you are selling, so it is very beneficial to include a range of images. Show close ups of various components and it’s a good idea to show any marks or damage up front.

Be Honest

Be upfront and accurate when posting your item. It’s good for you and our cycling community. Don’t oversell and acknowledge any key flaws. Do your research and set a fair price, our cycling community isn’t cheap and appreciate quality so don’t be afraid to set a fair price.

Meet the Buyer

Arrange to meet locally in a public place if possible and bring a family member or friend with you. For added peace of mind, it can be beneficial to ask a buyer to show their personal identification before you hand over any goods for inspection.

Be Responsive

If you’re going to be unreachable for an extended period, simply pause your listing so you don’t keep people hanging. There will be plenty more buyers when you return. Remember to mark your product as sold when you sell, this helps keep the products current and reduces frustration for buyers when searching.

Show up on Time

If you’ve set a time to meet a buyer, stick to the plan and show up on time. If you can’t make it, these things happen, just let the person know as soon as you can so they’re not left waiting.

When you sell

The transaction is arranged directly between yourself (Seller) and the buyer. Bike Chaser does not facilitate payments between private buyers and sellers. Its important to be safe when completing your sale transactions.

Generally you will find a buyer locally and our statistics tell us cyclists are happy to travel to pick up good equipment.

We recommend buyers speak to the seller and have a local bike mechanic check out the bike, or get your own local store to check it out once you have purchased. Your local bike stores are always happy to help and can provide helpful advice for both buyers and sellers.
