This Soma Wolverine has been built in house at Northside with no particular end price in mind. The goal simply was to build a unique, high quality drop bar commuting bike.

Frame and Fork

Soma Wolverine (B Type) 56cm frame + colour matched Unicrown fork

Using Tange Prestige chromoly tubeset, made in Taiwan. 135mm QR rear dropounts + 100x15mm front thru axle

Drivetrain

Shimano Alfine 11 internally geared hub with Gates Carbon Belt and Microshift's 11 speed drop bar levers for Alfine 11. The hub offers a 409% gear range. With the Gates 24t sprocket and 46t chainring gear 1 sits at 27.6 gear inches and gear 11 sits at 112.7 gear inches. This is similar to a gravel bike with a 11-32t cassette and 32/48t adventure crankset.

Brakes

Yokozuna Motoko hydraulic calipers with Microshift drop bar cable levers offer a hybrid system that is both low maintenance and self adjusting as pads wear.

Wheels

Alex MD21 rims, Alfine rear hub, Shutter Precision dynamo front hub, DT Swiss Champion spokes and Panaracer Gravelking TLC 700x38c tyres. The wheels have been handbuilt inhouse and come tubeless ready with tubeless valves and sealant required for final setup.

Salsa Cowbell 44cm bars, Ritchey Classic Saddle and Bar Tape
